Home lighting products manufacturer Artilux NMF has announced improved internal logistics since using an RFID tracking solution from UPM Raflatac
Artilux NMF is a joint venture that incorporates the Swedish company Artilux AB and the Lithuanian company SC Neaustini. Artilux NMF produces over six million luminaries annually, resulting in shipments of about 25 000 pallets each year. Artilux NMF now tags each of these outbound pallets with UPM Raflatac’s ShortDipole RFID tags at the production quality control point.
Under the system, RFID readers are installed at each by-pass gate, tracking pallets as they travel from production to storage to loading ramps for distribution. The system determines automatically if the pallet can move through the gates and informs warehouse operators by sending information to the control display.
In addition to the ShortDipple RFID tags, the RFID solution uses Zebra RZ400 printers, CAEN RFID’s readers and computers with RFID reader and laser bar code scanner from German company t+t Netcom.
