BIO-key International, a developer of biometric solutions, has been chosen by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and their project manager Lockheed Martin to provide the fingerprint authentication technology for the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system being developed.
Further, the contract stipulates a composite of Bio-key’s and fellow biometrics developer MorphoTrak’s biometric algorithms that create a faster and more accurate solution. The result of the collaboration is a biometric algorithm that reportedly surpasses the capabilities of all other fingerprint matching algorithms.
