(PRWEB) March 8, 2007 – FileTrail, Inc. the leading provider of RFID File Tracking Solutions, announces the RFID Tracking Kit. The kit provides a comprehensive but economical solution for file tracking and records management for the small to medium-sized law firm.
The RFID File Tracking Kit combines FileTrail’s innovative browser-based software with Gen 2 RFID technology. Its affordability comes from software tools and a project methodology that delivers a perfect fit to each client and minimizes the cost of delivery.
The RFID File Tracking Kit provides a comprehensive, out of the box solution. It includes the RFID hardware, RFID tags, software, service and support needed to get a system up and running.
“Gen 2 technology made RFID viable for law firms by cutting the cost of RFID tags in half and increasing read ranges from inches to feet in 2006,” said Tom Pemberton, Vice President of Product Strategy for FileTrail. “The combination of Gen 2 RFID and our Records Management software is solving the most costly problem law firms face today.”
Law firms purchasing the RFID File Tracking Kit gain the ability to locate for missing files using RFID. The portable RFID tracker is a handheld device that reads RFID tags from up to four feet away. When a lost file is identified an alert sounds and the description of the file and who is waiting for it is displayed.
Audits are easily performed with the portable RFID tracker. Periodic audits are often performed by law firms with bar codes to update the locations of files. One FileTrail client reduced their audits of 5,000+ files at 200 offices and desks from 32 hours to 4 ½ hours using the portable RFID tracker.
“FileTrail was a leap forward for the firm in terms of automated file tracking and RFID technology,” according to Jody Rosenberg, Director of Operations for Sughrue Mion, PLLC.
More than just RFID, FileTrail’s browser-based software automates a lot of processes that are commonly manual in law firms including: labeling, requesting, boxing for storage, ordering from commercial records centers, and more. The basic kit is extensible to work across multiple offices, integrate with existing systems, and print color coded labels.
“We realized the amount of time we spent managing case files was huge,” said Lee Reichert, a partner at Kamlet Shepherd & Reichert. “FileTrail RFID is cutting that time by 75%.”
