FIME, a provider of integration testing services for contact and contactless chip solutions, has become the first laboratory to achieve Interac Association accreditation to certify dual interface cards and readers.
According to FIME, this will support the mass market roll out of Interac Flash, Canada’s new contactless debit service. Based on EMV requirements, Flash enables cardholders to conduct transactions at the point of sale using either the contact or contactless technology on their debit card for smaller value purchases.
Based in Montreal, FIME America laboratory will perform evaluations on products before market release to ensure they comply with Flash specifications. Successful card and terminal products will be issued with the required certification stamps, says FIME.
