Ford Motor Company’s new concept car offers a glimpse at the auto company’s vision of the family car of the future. What does America’s least financially-troubled car maker envision the family of the near future requiring? RFID technology, among other things.
The Transit Connect Family One concept has an RFID-enabled computer in the dashboard, enabling it to communicate with a smart phone or other RFID-enabled portable device. According to Ford, this enables the car owner to synchronize hands-free calling, create to-do lists, and integrate schedules and reminders from behind the wheel.
Other, less RFID-oriented features of the concept car include stowable scooters, integrated toy and backpack storage, a whiteboard, and built-in hand sanitizer dispensers.
