Florida State University has started the process of phasing out its old FSUCard to prepare students for a new online cashless payment system called FSUCash, reports FSU News.
Student can still currently use the old card for gaining access into buildings and libraries on campus, but if students want to pay to use the library printers they will have to use the new system of depositing money.
The cashless payment system replaces the university’s previous smart chip design. Students can log in using their Blackboard account or the designated machines located in the libraries to deposit money onto their card using a credit card.
The FSUCard Center doesn’t say when the old card will become officially obsolete, but it encourages students who have not yet made the switch to exchange their old FSU Card for the new one. Even the local student hangout, Club Downunder, is reportedly not admitting students to free shows if they have not yet upgraded to the new card.
