GAO RFID announced a high frequency RFID reader/writer, model 233004, with an antenna which can be used in harmony as a smart checkout multi-tag solution.
The advanced reader/writer is able to capture multiple tags from a distance of up to 30 centimeters, in a long queue as commonly found in such applications as reading jewelry tags, laundry management, document tracking, or book or video rentals.
The small form factor of this unit provides for easy installation and is a suitable hardware solution that can be integrated into point-of-sale (POS) systems where multiple tag reads for long lines are required.
The smart reader is encapsulated within a water and dust resistant ABS case allowing robust operation even in harsh environments. It is compliant with ISO15693 standard and communicates with a computer via an RS232 interface. It consumes approximately 1000 milliwatts per hour.
