Clothing retailer Gap has announced that 65 of its stores across the Bay Area have adopted Google Wallet.
Customers at selected Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory Stores and Gap Outlet stores can now pay for their items and redeem digital coupons all with a single tap of their NFC-enabled mobile phone at checkout.
To promote the new service, Gap is offering Google Wallet users 15% off their entire purchases. Customers can find the coupon in the app’s Google Offers section.
Bay Area Gap stores will also begin accepting MasterCard PayPass-enabled credit and debit cards as part of the roll out.
Gap is now one of several clothing outlets to embrace Google Wallet, including American Eagle, Guess, Champs and department stores Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
