Brazil is launching Gemalto’s TSM solution for mobile NFC payment program with UpTeq NFC SIM and AllynisTrusted Services Management (TSM).
Gemalto is partnering with TIM Brasil, a mobile operator with 70 million subscribers and Banco Itaú, one of the world’s largest banks to bring secure NFC mobile payments. Gemalto’s TSM platform will be at the heart of the secure integration and management of NFC services across the country.
Gemalto’s NFC SIM cards and TSM platform simplify and expedite secure mobile transactions while keeping sensitive account data private. Customers can make purchases in more than 100 popular restaurants, coffee shops and retail stores in the country.
As the pilot program expands, Gemalto reveals that plans are afoot to include its TSM solution in public transit as well as other NFC-based mobile services.
Gemalto is aiding mobile operators in Brazil improve efficiency in their mobile marketing campaigns using its Smart Message solution.
The Gemalto technology enables for real-time dialog between mobile providers and their customers. Vivo — a mobile operator in Brazil — delivered mobile services to millions last year using Gemalto’s solution.
Delivering marketing info directly to a device’s idle screen, Gemalto’s Smart Message gives users a choice to receive messages that allow service discovery and subscription at the user’s fingertip. Using SIM software, the Gemalto solution is compatible with 2G feature phones, smart phones and tablets.
The solution also uses LinqUs Event Manager, a backend management software that detects changes in a subscriber’s context — roaming outside the wireless network area, exceeding data plan limits, etc. — ensuring that the right services are offered at the right time, tailoring to each individual customer experience.
