Sparkasse Suedholstein has opted to implement Gemalto’s Ezio strong authentication optical readers to its e-banking customers.
The Ezio reader eliminates the need for paper-based lists of one-time-passwords and extends the level of security on a smart banking card without requiring additional software.
The device is the size of a credit card and offers optical authentication through placing the device in front of the screen they’re using to access their account. An optical sensor captures the online transaction information.
With the reader, Sparkasse Suedholstein can transition from iTAN to chipTAN technology, which is supported by all German savings banks, cooperative banks and the Postbank. Sparkasse Suedholstein is part of the Sparkassen Finanzgruppe.
