GlobalPlatform reveals 2013 board of directors

GlobalPlatform has announced its board of directors for fiscal year 2013 after concluding annual elections for six of the eleven seats.
Accompanying the elected the board seats, individual members have been confirmed to serve as Board Officers for the one-year term as well as the selection of a new Mobile Task Force Chair and Strategic Director.
Marc Kekicheff, senior business leader for Chip Innovation at Visa Inc. will retain his position as chairman for the third consecutive year while GlobalPlatform vice-chair will fall to Uwe Wittig, group vice president, head of Business Line Payment, Transit and Authentication at Giesecke & Devrient. GlobalPlatform’s Secretary / Treasurer position will be filled by Yves Moulart, director of Development and Innovation within STMicroelectronics’ Secure MCUs Division. Secure Software Solutions has been re-appointed to its respective role at GlobalPlatform.
Six board seats were open to election, and accompanying Kekicheff and Wittig will be:

Dorff was also appointed as the new Chair of GlobalPlatform’s Mobile Task Force following Kekicheff’s decision to step down after leading the group for six years. Jeppe’s responsibilities as chair of the Task Force will include monitoring the group’s understand of both business and technical requirements of the secure mobile services ecosystem and to ensure the establishment of an agreed and workable application management infrastructure.
GlobalPlatform also chooses Strategic Directors from within its membership base to provide additional advice and expertise on particular market issues. Jerome Becquart, vice president and general manager Identity Assurance at HID Global— a full member of GlobalPlatform—has agreed to the voluntary counseling position to take immediate effect. Becquart will provide guidance on the identity market and lead the activities of the Government Task Force.
The announcement of GlobalPalatform’s new board comes after the group announced that it has reached 100 members— a testament to the importance and relevance of the group’s work.
