GlobeRanger Corp. announced the successful demonstration of active and passive RFID interoperability in support of the ISO 18000-7 technology for the Department of Defense.
The ISO 18000-7 specification defines the air interface for RFID devices operating as an active radio frequency tag in the 433 Mhz band used in item management applications. On average, the Department of Defense employs approximately 30,000 active RFID tags per month for its shipments.
The demonstration, conducted together with IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, was to prove to Defense Department personnel the ease of integrating ISO 18000-7 compliant RFID technology into GlobeRanger’s iMotion Edgeware solution.
iMotion, which is deployed by the U.S. Department of Defense, provides shipment arrival notification, secondary data validation, and the basis of future process automation for both shipping and receiving aggregated cargo requiring the use of active and passive RFID.
