GoldKey Security Corporation has launched GoldKey Soft-Tokens for iOS and Android devices. With the token a mobile device becomes a software authenticator that, with a PIN, can achieve two-factor authentication.

The solution helps secure authorized mobile devices for private Web resources access for activities such as online banking.

The tokens use an authentication method called Gold ID, which provides bi-directional authentication without needing to transmit a PIN. This method doesn’t need one-time password algorithms or a reliable chain of signed certificates to function.

The Soft-Token App is available now for free from Apple’s App Store and Google Play. To use GoldKey authentication for a website, an organization must first subscribe to GoldKey’s services.
