Green Bit provides system for data acquisition for Spanish electronic ID (DNIe)

Green Bit will collaborate with Siemens Enterprise Communications and Investronica (a division of El Corte Inglés) on the Spanish electronic ID card (DNIe). Green Bit will provide for the installation of more than 1,000 workstations where data acquisition will be done. The system guarantees the easy acquisition of all needed citizen data: photography, fingerprints, signature all to be written on the chip of the DNIe by the smartcard module integrated in Scan-IDe40. The DNIe will be the first electronic ID document in Europe containing fingerprints and electronic signature for access to remote services offered by Public Authorities.
Turin based company Green Bit has won tender partnering with Siemens and El Corte Inglés
Green Bit, Italy based company in collaboration with Siemens Enterprise Communications S.A. and Investronica SA (division of Informatica El Corte Inglés) has supplied the system used for data acquisition of the citizen needed to issue the Spanish Electronic ID card (DNIe).
The tender, issued by Red.es belonging to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, intends installation of more than 1.000 workstations where acquisition will be done nearby Police departments thru which the Spanish Ministry of the Interior will issue the DNIe. The DNIe will be the first electronic ID document in Europe containing fingerprints and electronic signature in order to access to remote services offered by Public Authorities.
The core of the system, called Scan-IDe, was entirely developed and realized by Green Bit. The solution propose by the Turin company prevailed over the competition thanks to the features offered and its reliability. The system follows the all-in-one approach: Scan-IDe40 integrates in one single housing all the requested features. This device guarantees the easy acquisition of all needed citizen data: Photography, fingerprints, signature all to be written on the chip of the DNIe by the smartcard module integrated in Scan-IDe40.
