IRVINE, Calif.–HID Corp., the premier manufacturer of contactless access control cards and readers for the security industry, announced that it has achieved ISO9001:2000 re-certification for quality management and its system certification that encompasses manufacturing. HID first received ISO9000 certification on June 1, 1999, ISO9001:2000 certification on June 1, 2002, and has been continuously certified while they maintain focus on continuous process improvements for the company’s entire iCLASS 13.56 MHZ, Prox 125 kHz, and Wiegand card and reader technology design, manufacture and distribution processes.
To attain ISO9001 certification, all certified companies must be in conformance to the ISO9001:2000 standard that requires companies to do what is needed to fulfill the customer’s quality requirements, enhance customer satisfaction, manage the processes or activities and to achieve continual improvement of their performance in pursuit of these objectives.
“We are extremely proud of the HID employees worldwide who have worked diligently to upgrade and improve our existing lean manufacturing processes and those in engineering and R&D to achieve and be compliant with the ISO9001:2000 standard,” said Steve Wagner, HID’s chief operating officer. “Our management system is at the core of our business operations identifying one of HID’s goals to provide unparalleled quality services and products to our customers.”
“Passing the re-certification without any major non-conformities is a testament to our high quality of processes and products,” said Denis Hebert, HID’s president. “Our unrelenting focus on quality and continuous improvement is paying off and will remain a differentiating factor for HID as we grow and increase our product and service offering.” The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is the world’s leading developer of international standards that specify the requirements for state-of-the-art products, services, processes, materials and systems, and for good conformity, assessment, managerial and organizational practice.
