HID Global has announced the launch of Identity on Demand (IoD), a service offering that provides expertise and speed to make custom credential and ID badge. At the same time, HID also launched EdgeDeveloper Kit, a key tool for development to Edge Evo, HID’s next generation access control platform.
Identity on Demand offers card design, database management and card personalization. It can also manage the administrative tasks of customer ID projects by producing credentials quickly, efficiently and within budget.
The new service represents a consolidation of experience and process refinement for delivering card issuance services in a secure, fast and convenient manner. From laminated artwork and anti-counterfeiting techniques to variable record printing and advanced personalization, IoD services delivers the tools, delivery services, speed and ongoing support needed to ensure the success of most credential programs.
“By introducing Identity on Demand services, HID Global has addressed a key customer need: end-to-end delivery of secure credentials, from card technology to personalization to delivery,” said HID’s Anthony Ball, senior vice president, Identity and Access Management.
HID’s global EdgeDeveloper Kit is a set of tools that includes plug-and-play hardware, enhanced API and critical documentation. By providing these tools, developers can test a wide spectrum of actual use case scenarios to create applications on HID’s Edge platform.
Developers using the kit are able to take advantage of enhanced security supported by the new Edge Evo platform. These include:
- Support of locking hardware through 12/24V selectable outputs
- Flexibility through input/output add-on modules
- Security with two-reader application support
- Plug-n-play installation and high security communication with Hi-O-connected devices
- Thin form factor for cost-effective installation in almost any environment
EdgeDeveloper’s application programming interface provides an array of access control functions that allow for a wide choice of custom configurations.
