HID Global, a developer of identity security solutions, has launched a newly expanded e-Government manufacturing campus in Galway, Ireland to better enable themselves to produce products and services to meet the rising demand for electronic documentation such as passports and government issued IDs.
The company has also reported large financial and personnel investments in the expansion including an employment increase of 22% for the campus.
HID is working particularly hard on its e-passport division as recent studies have proven that as much as 88% of the passports issued in 2014 will be electronic. An expansion on research and development teams being located at the new campus has received various accolades from the local private sector as well, however HID maintains that they are setting up the new facilities to be able to support the needs of existing clients as well as those of new ones.
