HID unveils Microsoft authentication platform
HID Global introduced the ActivID Tap Authentication platform for secure multi-factor authentication to cloud applications and web services.
HID’s new ActivID Tap Authentication for Microsoft enables users to simply tap their smart card to laptops, tablets, phones and other NFC-enabled devices for access to Office365 and other cloud apps and web-based services. The solution uses award-winning Seos credentials, enabling organizations to implement a consistent “tap” experience when accessing both doors and cloud apps.
The offering enables authentication to multiple apps and services on multiple endpoint devices without having to recall and re-type additional codes and passwords. ActivID Tap Authentication for Microsoft is tightly integrated with Windows Server 2012 R2 Active Directory Federation Services and the HID Global Authentication Cloud Service. There is no additional annual maintenance and support fee with the service, and both the client software and user licenses are bundled into a flexible subscription-based pricing model.
The solution includes ActivID Tap Authentication Provider, Tap App for Android, Tap client for Windows 7, Authentication Cloud Services, HID Global’s Seos smart cards and an optional OMNIKEY USB reader for Windows 7 endpoints without built-in NFC readers.
Suprema release BioStation 2
Suprema announced the launch of BioStation 2, a new fingerprint terminal that improves upon speed and accuracy.
BioStation 2 uses new hardware and algorithms to improve accuracy and provide matching speeds of up to 20,000 fingerprints per second. The terminal also features a new optical sensor that enhances the capture of wet or dry fingers.
BioStation 2 has Power-over-Ethernet, Wiegand, IP65 certified exterior to enable system designers to place the terminal in both indoor and outdoor environment. The terminal also features extensive communication interfaces including TCP/IP, RS485, Wiegand and USB.
Janrain introduces customer identity tech to Chinese market
Janrain announced the launch of its Customer Identity Management platform infrastructure within the Chinese market.
Non-Chinese brands and organizations now have the opportunity to store customer profile data in accordance with current and future Chinese laws, enabling their marketing organizations to develop deeper understanding and insight into their Chinese markets and customer base.

AMAG FIPS 201 ready
AMAG Technology announced that its Symmetry security management system has been approved as a Federal Identity Credential and Access Management (FICAM)/FIPS 201 compliant solution by the U.S. General Services Administration.
AMAG Technology has partnered with HID Global to provide a end-to-end physical access control system to government entities requiring GSA-approved physical security solutions. AMAG’s Symmetry Access Control software and Symmetry Intelligent Control panels along with HID Global’s pivCLASS Validation Engine, pivCLASS Authentication Module and pivCLASS RK40/RKCL40 readers met the testing requirements. Security manufactures’ products must be FICAM-compliant to meet specific security requirements mandated by the US government.
