Hill-Rom, Radianse to develop RTLS for hospitals
Hill-Rom and Radianse today announced plans to integrate Radianse’s real-time location system (RTLS) into Hill-Rom’s NaviCare Nurse Call system.
Hill-Rom is currently testing the accuracy and reliability of Radianse’s RTLS. Should they choose to adopt Radianse’s technology, the new system will be able to wirelessly track in real time the movements and interactions of patients, equipment, and staff on a room-level scale.
As modern health care practices call for increased mobility, wireless tracking technologies like RTLS are becoming essential to managing equipment, staff and patients, according to health care industry analyst group Gartner Inc.
The system will operate on the same platform as Hill-Rom’s NaviNurse Nurse Call System, so that Hill-Rom’s 800 health care customers already using NaviNurse will not need to invest in any parallel technology.
