iLink comes to Northern Ireland

A new contactless transit card for rail and bus riders in Northern Ireland was launched. Called iLink, the card can be purchased for unlimited day, weekly or monthly travel on several transit services within the country.
“iLink is the first integrated commercial smart card for Northern Ireland and is a big step forward in delivering integrated travel solutions for everyone,” said Catherine Mason, group chief executive for Translink, Northern Ireland’s public transport organization.
The card is expected to speed up boarding times on buses, making overall journey times faster.
