ImageWare Systems has announced that it has been awarded a contract to perform an expansion of an existing border management system it initially installed for an unnamed country.
The contract, which is valued at $37 million, is expected to start January 2011 and last for roughly a year and a half.
The border management system that ImageWare is bringing to the project enables an agency to collect biometric data such as fingerprint, face and iris information as well as biographical information and embed the data into a smart card to be used for identity authentication at border crossings.
