Indian student creates biometric car security

A student at India’s Sri Kalikamba Fabricators at Moodbidri, Sheetal Kumar Jain, has developed a device he refers to as The Electrician that electronically locks the ignition of a car until a registered fingerprint has been swiped acknowledging that an authorized driver is using the vehicle, according to an Indian Cars and Bikes article.
While similar systems that biometrically protect vehicles already exist on the market, Jain’s solution was developed and built using only discarded electronic equipment. Additionally, The Electrician actually starts the ignition as long as the key is in the correct place in the ignition.
