INSIDE Contactless has rolled out its MicroPass 6000 dual-interface payment processor designed as an EMV-compliant platform that will offer fast time to market for card manufacturers and issuers. It provides both contact and contactless operations, expanding the company’s multi-brand offerings.
The dual-interface platform is designed to meet the high-volume requirements of EMV markets in Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as Canada, and for U.S. issuers providing dual-interface cards for cardholders traveling internationally.
INSIDE is developing five application configurations based on the MicroPass 6000 platform that include branded credit, debit and transit applications. In addition, INSIDE is prepared to work with other major brands and organizations on custom configurations that require dual interface capabilities. Samples of MicroPass 6000 product configurations will be available in November for manufacturers in chip and module form.
The MicroPass 6000 platform supports both ISO 14443-B contactless and ISO 7816 contact protocols, and is designed to be compliant with both EMV CL v1.1 and v2.0, type B and EMV v4.1 Book 1 interoperability standards. It features a low-power, 16-bit proprietary RISC microprocessor, an advanced native operating system, a multi-application architecture, optimized hardware computing resources, proven data management support capabilities and an optional hardware RSA co-processor.
An add-on file manager application allows for the creation of secure data storage applications for retail loyalty, transit, ID, and access control applications along with core payment applications. Each product can be configured to provide a scalable solution for one or more specific mass market applications, such as payment, transit fare collection, ID and access control.
