Invengo finds North American distributor

China-based Invengo Technology Corporation, developer of a range of RFID products from inlays to reader modules, has named Can/U.S. Enviro-RFID as its North American distributor. Under the terms of the agreement, Can/U.S. Enviro-RFID, which bills itself as the continent’s only dedicated value-added RFID solutions distributor, will serve as Invengo’s sole channel to serve its North American reseller partners, offering a selection of soltuions and accompanying customer service.
According to a spokesperson, Invengo’s initial North American product offerings will include an inlay priced at 5.8 cents and its XC-2900 UHF Gen 2 handheld reader. The company plans to follow the launch of these devices with a wide array of RFID inlays and tags, as well as its XCRF-860E fixed reader. The company hopes to create a substantial North American distribution channel through its new partner.
Invengo was founded in 1993 and is one of China’s first RFID technology firms. Headquartered in Shenzen, the company gained its first success as the RFID provider for China Railway’s automatic train identification system, which according to Invengo deployed 17,000 RFID readers, 565,000 passive tags and data collection system integrated throughout 995 facilities in the railway’s network.
