Kraft has rolled out vending machines in Chicago and New York that give out free pudding samples to adults. The machines estimate the age of the individual by using facial recognition technology, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
The machine uses a biometric scanner to estimate the age and gender of people standing in front of it, and will serve adults but refuses children. The machines are being piloted at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium and New York’s South Street Seaport.
The iSample is designed to offer free samples of Kraft’s new Temptations jelly – a dessert marketed at adults. None of the information the machines captured is stored and used later.
