L-1 receives order for HIIDE from U.S. Army

L-1 Identity Solutions, a developer of biometric systems and tools, has announced that they have received an additional $8.3 million order for their Handheld Interagency Identity Detection Equipment 4.0 biometric enrollment and recognition devices for the U.S. Army’s Space Program Office.
This order is in addition to the original one first announced in April of 2007 and is expected to be completely filled by the end of the second quarter of 2009.
The HIIDE is a device that is capable of both enrollment and identity verification via finger, face and iris biometrics. Additionally, the structure of it has been purposely designed to be rugged enough for use in the field by military agencies.
