I am pleased to debut our new web site and use this opportunity to update you on the many improvements occurring at CR80 News. First, I am pleased to announce that CR80 News has a new sister publication, RFID News. For those of you unfamiliar with AVISIAN Publishing’s history, we began with CR80 News in 2000 and have, over the years, added two additional publications—Contactless News and SecureID News. RFID News rounds out our suite of ID technology publications and provides another source of top-quality content to benefit all our readers.
Next, allow me to introduce our new web features. If you are a regular reader, I hope you enjoy our numerous additions and entirely new look. I am confident that the quality and breadth of our CR80 News content will benefit greatly from the new functionality of the site.
The Library: Access all our past and future content!
Over the years, our editorial team has produced a catalog of extremely focused, top-quality content on campus card systems as well as secure identification technology, contactless technology, RFID and more. For the first time, we are making this library of information available to you via the web. A Library subscription gives you access to all the content that AVISIAN publications produces—both in future issues and in our extensive archives. As a Library subscriber you can elect to receive any or all of the electronic publications for the one low price. Plus, you get unlimited access to our fully-searchable database with hundreds of subscriber-only articles covering campus card, RFID, contactless, and secure identification technology.
News and Weblog Feed
We are advancing our daily web news feed to include more original editorial via the inclusion of a weblog feed. Our staff writers and editor will provide ongoing insight into the issues impacting the campus card and ID technology markets. CR80 News readers will also benefit from the addition of key content from our team of writers at the other AVISIAN publications.
Growing Pains
The last few months have been an exciting and busy time. Despite all the effort to make the site a reality, it is far from completion. Look for significant content additions, new writers and aesthetic changes in the weeks to come. Please excuse any bugs you encounter as we iron the last few wrinkles out. And please check out our suite of sister publications. I am sure you will find information that can help you navigate your way through this rapidly changing identification technology landscape.
Thanks,
Chris Corum,
Executive Editor, CR80 News
