New registers have been added to Chicago-based Loyola University’s campus dining hall that will enable its students to use their campus cards to purchase items using Rambler Bucks.
However, as revealed by the Loyola Phoenix, some students are unhappy with the new register system, which is supposed to not only provide an additional method of payment but also speed up the check-out process. Students claim the system is slow and creates even longer lines than before.
The switch is part of the replacement of the current campus card transaction system, which aims to have all campus services simplified into a single card: laundry, parking, printing, buying books and dining.
Campus officials say the long lines and slow check-outs should be over soon, as people adjust and become more familiar with the registers and the system as a whole.
