Lumidigm is expanding yet again in the Brazilian market with a deployment of fingerprint sensors in ATMs in one of Brazil’s largest state-owned banks through its partners Diebold Brazil and Griaule. Diebold will supply the ATMs and Griaule will provide the supporting software.
The initial order encompasses more than 3,500 units. With the fingerprint readers, bank customers will no longer need PINs to access their accounts through the ATM.
The fingerprint readers contain multispectral imaging technology, which can read fingerprints on and below the skin. Its interface has the reliability needed to enable consistent biometric readings and doesn’t require direct supervision or troubleshooting.
This announcement is Lumidigm’s second contract in Brazil this week, exemplifying Latin America’s acceptance of fingerprint technology for security and authentication in ATMs.
