More contractors named for DoD’s RFID III program

Earlier this month, Unisys Corporation announced its selection by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office-Enterprise Information Systems as one of four contractors for the U.S. government’s RFID III program. The program has announced the full roster of contractors; in addition to Unisys, Systems & Processes Engineering Corporation , Northrop Grumman Information Technology and Savi, a Lockheed Martin company, have been awarded the right to compete for pieces of the large government project.
The Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contracts won by the four companies have a total ceiling value of around $428 million. The companies will bid to provide active RFID technology and services to U.S. military branches, federal government agencies, NATO and other coalition partner countries, and other foreign military sales.
The term of each contract is 10 years consisting of a three-year base period followed by two one-year options for products, services and maintenance and five one-year options for maintenance only.
