Morpho has helped to issue the first Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) number during the inauguration ceremony for the project.
A UIDAI number, a 12-digit personal identification number, will eventually be assigned to each citizen in India. It will be connected to fingerprint and iris biometrics in an effort to make identification easier across the country especially when dealing with social programs.
Morpho is supplying deduplication technology to scan the collected biometric samples in search of duplicate entries to ensure that when UIDAI numbers are assigned no individual receives more than one ID.
