Motorola is working with Tata Docomo and Airtel to launch its parental control service, or iSIM (intelligent SIM) in India, according to telecomyatra.afaqs.com.
iSIM, which has already been launched in Europe, Middle East and Africa with the help of Bipper Communication, is an NFC-enabled Web service that enables parents to manage their children’s use of mobile phones.
With iSIM, parents can log on to a secure Web portal to see who their children are talking to, when, and for how long, as well as manage their childrens’ approved number list. They need only attach an NFC flexible wafer to the phone’s original SIM card to begin monitoring the caller’s activity.
The iSIM platform also enables a phone to support up to four IMSI (international mobile subscriber identity) profiles or phone numbers on a single SIM card from multiple operators.
