Select Laboratories, a health care company in North Carolina, has implemented a biometric time and attendance solution from technology developer Wasp Barcode Technologies to manage its more than 150 employees.
Already, managers from the labs have reported a 70% decrease in time required to process payroll due to moving to the more automated system from Wasp, called WaspTime, from the old manual paper-based system.
The new system uses an employee’s fingerprint to swipe them in and out of work for the day and logs the data into the WaspTime software. This leaves employees that previously had to tally hours manually to simply review and edit as necessary the tabulated hours from the system.
Wasp officials are quick to point that beyond the improvement in workflow that many customers also appreciate the biometric time and attendance option due to its ability to produce more accurate time records through eliminating fraudulent punches.
