Neurotechnology, a developer of biometric technologies, has announced the release of their VeriLook Surveillance Software Development Kit.
VeriLook is capable of real time identification via facial biometric captured in a live video stream from their high-resolution video cameras. While the VeriLook system holds many capabilities for better airport security and other areas of high security concern, Neurotechnology also claims that the system could be a very useful tool in employee time and attendance tracking as it could match faces in a main entrance corridor which would both increase reliability of payroll systems, while also reducing time required for employees to mark their hours.
The system is setup to work with a database of known facial biometric templates to match scanned faces against. Additionally, VeriLook is capable of working with a wide variety of high-resolution cameras with assistance offered for cameras not immediately supported by the system. Neurotechnology officials are hopeful for the systems success in both government and commercial applications.
