Kaba Workforce Solutions have introduced biometric terminals B-Net 91 20 FP and B-Net 93 20 Compact Biometric Module (CBM) for access control and time/attendance recording. The terminals, which feature fingerprint ID units and databases for 500 employees that can be increased to 3,000 if needed, integrate with virtually all of Kaba’s terminals. The fingerprint sensor allows access to secure areas and can record clock-in and out times of employees. The B-Net 93 20 CBM unit is small and can store 200 master records and 4,000 booking records with options to expand. It is an option for outdoor use due to its protection class of IP 54/NEMA 4 and optional heater.
Kaba Workforce Solutions Announces Next Generation Access Control and Time and Attendance Biometric Identification Terminals
MIRAMAR, Fla. — Kaba Workforce Solutions, the North American operating subsidiary of Kaba Holding AG, Switzerland, the worldwide leader in enterprise workforce management systems today announced two new biometric terminals B-Net 91 20 FP, and B-Net 93 20 Compact Biometric Module (CBM) for access control and time and attendance recording.
Kaba’s next generation biometric technology is designed to accommodate the increasing demand for high-security access control and expedient time and attendance recording. The new biometric fingerprint identification units offer fast response times and may be integrated with virtually all of Kaba’s terminals. The biometric module features an internal database for 500 employees and may be increased to accommodate up to 3,000 employees, ideal for midsized to large enterprises.
The technology allows for an employee’s fingerprint data to be stored in a reader making the collection process simple and fast. When employees request access or want to record their working time, they first select the required function and are then asked to identify themselves. By touching the sensor briefly with a finger, the employee may gain access to a facility or record a booking for a job as soon as the corresponding template has been found in the database. The entire identification process takes less than a second and does not require a badge. If for any reason the individual cannot be detected biometrically, he/she can be identified via a PIN code.
“We’re pleased to offer yet another technology solution that can improve enterprise and workforce management practices for our customers,” commented John C. Edwards, President and CEO for Kaba Workforce Solutions. “Our goal is to continually deploy leading edge technology solutions that improve automation and reduce costs for companies with evolving management and security requirements.”
The B-Net 93 20 CBM unit is an independent time recording terminal and offers many options for companies due to its high scalability. The terminal is small and compact in size, and is designed as a solution for small to medium sized display requirements for which a resolution of 240 x 40 pixels is sufficient for information display. It can store 200 master records and 4,000 booking records and features an option to add up to 2,000 master records and approximately 8,000 bookings. In addition, the B-Net 93 20 CBM is also suitable for outdoor installation as it is designed with a protection class of IP 54 / NEMA 4, and an optional heater.
