New chip generation cards in the works after Trüb and SIX Card supply aggreement

Trüb AG has announced it is supplying the new chip generation for Swiss Maestro and V Pay cards.
This is comes after a supply agreement with SIX Card Solutions, the Swiss credit and debit card processor. SIX Card Solutions consider two suppliers in a formal bidding process before making the deal with Trüb.
The new chip to be called “EMVI’08” is based on the Common Payment Application (CPA) chip specification, accepted by both MasterCard and Visa. The operating system for which this chip generation will stem from is Trüb’s CombOS, which integrates the MasterCard and Visa safe payment applications.
Additionally it’s EMV operating system for bank cards including debit, credit, e-banking and e-commerce use, supports most ISO-7816 required loyalty applications.
Trüb’s customers in the finance sector include in Switzerland UBS, Cornèr Bank, the entirety of
Switzerland’s cantonal banks and more than 40 other financial institutions in 20 countries.
