Two new Magicard printers from Ultra Electronics allow users to produce a custom anti-card-copying watermark, such as their company logo, ensuring greater card security. The custom HoloKote pattern is programmed into a Custom Key, an encrypted memory card, which can also be used as a printer lock key.
With their patented HoloKote™ ID card watermark, the Magicard Rio 2 and Tango 2 printers from Ultra Electronics Card Systems set the new benchmark for ID card security
Magicard is the only brand of printers that automatically prints an anti-card-copying watermark onto the card during the print cycle. It costs nothing to print the HoloKote watermark – standard dye film ribbons are used to print on standard PVC cards. With the Rio 2 and Tango 2, a custom HoloKote pattern can be specified, ensuring not only the highest card security, but enabling the customer to print their own logo on the card. The custom HoloKote pattern is programmed into a Custom Key, an encrypted memory card, which can also be used as a printer lock key.
The Tango 2 is the double-sided version of the Rio 2. Able to print 80 double-sided cards per hour, the Tango 2 is for high-throughput printing applications, and where double-sided printing is convenient for instant card issuance.
The Rio 2 and Tango 2 are direct replacements of the best-selling Rio and Tango printers. The new models offer all the same features – contactless, contact chip and magnetic stripe encoding, USB & parallel interfaces, fast print speed, metal print engine – and also add a new LCD display, Ethernet interface option, and a stylish new silver design.
According to Ray Coles, Managing Director of Ultra Electronics Card Systems, “The Rio 2 and Tango 2 are designed to be form, fit, and function replacements of the popular Rio and Tango, allowing Magicard resellers and end-users seamlessly to change over to the new models. The introduction of the Rio 2 and Tango 2 comes at a time when Ultra Electronics Card Systems is moving from strength to strength; during 2004 we have invested in a new expanded production facility dedicated to Magicard printers, as well as significantly expanding our sales and marketing team.”
The new Rio 2 and Tango 2 printers are fully supported by the unique UltraCoverPlus warranty, which offers free print head replacement and a free loan printer for a full 2 years from purchase (North America and EU).
Magicard secure ID card printers include the entry-level Opera and Avalon, the compact Alto, and the high-security, high-throughput Rio 2 and Tango 2 models, as well as the reverse transfer Prima. All printers feature advanced card security options.
