Michigan-based CTS North America, a supplier of check and cash products for merchants, tellers and branches, released a scanner that captures both checks and color IDs. This product, called the LS150 IDC is designed to help U.S. banks improve customer service and control fraud.
CTS developed and tested the scanner over a two-year period. The final result enables banks to handle large deposit image and balance capture at the branch level. The by-pass feeder on the LS150 IDC scans ID cards and creates color images of them. It also can read magnetic stripes. The device incorporates a 2D bar code reader to interpret the data on the card and verify a customer’s identity.
The device also incorporates CTS’ TopImage processing system, designed to increase CAR read rates, lower errors and reduce the number of non-conforming images.
CTS is launching this product at BAI Connect, held on March 12 to 14 in Las Vegas.
