New storage building to feature biometrics

A new, high-technology warehouse including biometric security built to house objects of high-value is being erected in Red Hook, Brooklyn, according to a New York Times article. The massive structure, which will house items stored by up-scale auction house Christie’s, will host infrared video cameras, motion-activated security systems and smoke, heat and water detection systems in addition to the biometric access control scanners. Some of the items reported to be stored in the warehouse include original Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso and Brancusi paintings.
