Gemalto adds HP Helion compatibility to strong authentication solution
Gemalto’s strong authentication solution, Protiva Cloud Confirm, is now compatible with HP CloudSystem under the HP Helion cloud portfolio.
The Protiva Cloud Confirm solution integrates seamlessly with service providers’ existing or future infrastructures, allowing for secure, frictionless access to cloud-based services for both HP’s CSP customers and their end users. Protiva Cloud Confirm also features mobile one-time-password capabilities and a multi-tenant authentication server.
Recent reports suggest that the global cloud computing market is expected to reach more than $158 billion dollars by year’s end 2014. Gemalto’s HP-compatible solution addresses the need for form factor versatility in identity authentication, as well as provides a detailed reporting platform for cloud service providers to monitor user activity and account creation.
The solution also lets cloud service providers enable a self-service user activation process that eliminates the need for calls to the helpdesk for password resets, a value added service that promises to reduce overall costs.

OSPT expands its Alliance Membership
The Open Standard for Public Transport (OSPT) Alliance, an international association that provides a new open standard for secure transit fare collection solutions, revealed that São Paulo Transporte and Swiss Post Solutions will utilize its CIPURSE standard. The CIPURSE standard offers an advanced foundation for developing highly secure, interoperable and flexible transit fare collection solutions.
Established in 1995, São Paulo Transporte – Brazil’s largest transport operator – serves the city’s more than 20 million citizens. São Paulo Transporte has demonstrated its progressive presence in the transport community through initiatives like the Bilhete Único system for fare control, which enables contactless smart card transactions.
The OSPT Alliance’s CIPURSE open standard, which offers a framework for developing interoperable fare collection systems, represents the next step for São Paulo Transporte as it continues to drive efficient, cost-effective transport solutions.
Swiss Post Solutions also plans to integrate the CIPURSE standard into its product portfolio. The company produces and initializes the transit cards for e-ticket Germany, a country-wide scheme facilitating cashless, seamless travel across Germany.
