NXP Semiconductors implemented Identive Group’s Cashless Betalen mobile payment system in the employee cafeteria at its production facility’s in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
Cashless Betalen works with Rabobank’s digital wallet to accept micro-payments when employees tap their mobile phones at payment terminals in the cafeteria. Identive produces the user interface and account management software platform for the wallet, as well as a NFC sticker based on MIFARE DESFire EV1 chip technology from NXP.
Two of four payment terminals in the cafeteria have been converted to this system and are now designated as “fast lanes.”
