NZSki, operators of New Zealand’s Coronet Peak, Mount Hutt and The Remarkables ski fields, is launching a new smart card system that will grant visitors access to lifts and equipment, as well as book lessons and buy concessions at the lodge, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
In addition to making a day on the slopes more convenient for visitors, MyPass will also allow ski operators to tell who is visiting what runs and in what frequency, so they can more accurately deploy maintenance crews.
The card will also store details of the holder’s rental equipment, saving them the pain of going through the fitting process every time they ski.
NZSki will begin issuing the new cards on the first day of ski season, June 6.
