Langston University, an historically black college in Oklahoma, has tightened access to the campus, funneling visitors through one of two welcome centers. Students must show their ID and parking pass to gain entrance. Visitors must show a government-issued ID, such as a driver license and then must park in an area designated for them.
Visitors will also be subject to a search, said a university spokesperson. Security officers at the Welcome Center will input the visitor’s information into a database, the same kind of system an officer uses when stopping motorists to check for warrants, tickets and criminal records.
