On Track Innovations (OTI) has been awarded a $2.5 million ten-year contract to deploy its EasyFuel solution for a government ministry in Africa.
EasyFuel is an automated payment solution that uses contactless technology to streamline the fueling process for oil companies, fleets and retail customers. Operable both in service stations and home bases, EasyFuel uses in-vehicle contactless smart cards to automatically send the service station vehicle identification and fuel type, as well as billing and payment information, allowing for a quick and easy fill up.
According to OTI, the system allows for 24-hour non-attendant sales, as well as greater in-store purchases. Using the solution, fleet companies can eliminate non-authorized fueling and receive comprehensive billing and detailed operating information.
Financial institutions can also benefit from new transaction fees and greater cash flow, while customers receive 24-hour, fast, cashless service as well as loyalty program rewards.
OTI will begin equipping home base facilities and priority on-road service stations with EasyFuel during phase one of the project, with additional refueling locations to come. Vehicle identification will be supported in conjunction with driver identification in an effort to eliminate fraud and various risk management parameters such as fuel grade and tank capacity checks.
Additionally, the EasyFuel system will provide automatic odometer and engine hour outputs in order to assist the government in its efforts to manage fuel consumption.
