SafeNet Hardware Security Modules and iKey Tokens Help ChosenSecurity Customers Safeguard Cryptographic Keys and Store Digital Certificates
NEEDHAM, MA, November 19, 2007–ChosenSecurity, Inc., a leading global provider of On-Demand PKI (public key infrastructure) security services, today announced a partnership with SafeNet, Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, ChosenSecurity will offer its customers SafeNet Hardware Security Modules smart cards and iKey tokens to protect their PKI infrastructures. The deal comes at a time when ChosenSecurity is rapidly building its product line and partner ecosystem in order to provide thousands of customers worldwide with an expanded range of options for using PKI as a hosted service or an internally managed security solution.
PKI technology is the industry standard for encrypting sensitive information that passes across networks. Many ChosenSecurity customers use the company’s On-Demand PKI service – a managed security offering that gets them up and running quickly and very cost-effectively. Others choose to implement the PKI infrastructure internally and draw upon ChosenSecurity’s software and services.
SafeNet is a global leader in information security. Founded more than 20 years ago, the company provides complete security utilizing its encryption technologies to protect communications, intellectual property and digital identities, and offers a full spectrum of products including hardware, software, and chips. UBS, Nokia, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Bank of America, Adobe, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Samsung, Texas Instruments, the U.S. Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service and scores of other customers entrust their security needs to SafeNet.
Customers using ChosenSecurity’s Root Services to anchor their in-house PKIs can now use SafeNet’s Luna® Hardware Security Modules to protect the PKI’s integrity with hardware key management, trusted path multi-person authentication and direct hardware-to-hardware backup. Customers can also store digital certificates from ChosenSecurity using either SafeNet’s smart cards or iKey USB Authentication tokens. SafeNet’s smart cards support the latest FIPS 201 specifications, while the iKey’s plug into USB ports, with no smart card reader required, and are small enough to fit on key rings.
“ChosenSecurity’s position in the PKI market, in North America and through TC TrustCenter globally, makes the company an ideal business partner for SafeNet,” said Andy Solterbeck, chief technology officer at SafeNet, Inc. “We’re pleased to offer ChosenSecurity’s customers options for protecting their internally managed PKI and for helping their mobile workforces keep sensitive information secure.”
Dean Coclin, vice president of business development at ChosenSecurity, commented, “SafeNet has earned its reputation as a pioneer and technology innovator in information security and we’re proud to assure our customers of tight integration between our companies’ products.
