Cornerstone University, located in Grand Rapids, Mich. has signed an agreement with PNC Bank to offer banking services to more than 3,200 students, faculty and staff at the university.
Starting in 2011, students at CU will have the option to link their student ID card to PNC account – adding ATM and purchasing functionality to campus cards that they already use for daily activities such as entering residence halls, library privileges and accessing meal plans.
Students will also have access to many PNC features including online and mobile banking, which enables students to sign up for mobile alerts should their balance drop below a specified limit or when a direct deposit occurs.
As part of the arrangement, PNC Bank will also offer financial literacy workshops for students and employees on CU campus, including basic banking, credit management, savings and investing, identity protection and home buying.
