RD2Buzz’ startup TapToLogin has launched a platform to incorporate digital identity recognition for social networking and e-commerce web sites.
The system can read electronic documents, such as e-passports, or NFC tags, and it can authenticate access using them. The system then stores proof of access as cryptographic hashes.
The beta release of the TapToLogin system is available for download at Google Play. It’s first being used on Facebook and Google for co-validation. Future releases will add Twitter and LinkedIn functionality.
The company hopes to be able to expand integration with official agencies and other companies and release versions to cover more operating systems and mobile OS. Additionally, the startup would like to integrate with ICAO for real time checking, although these advances are dependent on future funding.
