The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is using a cloud-based software solution by Qnectus, which integrates RFID technologies with social networking sites to connect walkers and their supports while simultaneously raising awareness.
Frequently referred to as the 3-Day, the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is a 60-mile walk to raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer. Participants commit to fundraising, training, and dedicating a three-day weekend to the event.
This year’s walks integrates the latest RFID technologies with social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to allow participants to automatically post updates as they reach different milestones along the course.
After debuting successfully in Boston on July 27 and Cleveland on August 3, the cloud-based software continues to connect walkers and their supporters while simultaneously raising awareness. Chicago recently hosted the third of fourteen Susan G. Komen 3-Day walks scheduled for 2012.
