RFIDTraxx LLC. a provider of RFID-enabled asset tracking systems, has announced the release of its DocStaxx software system. The DocStaxx system integrates MicroSoft’s SQL Server with RFID technology from Magellan Technologies to create a system that enables the tracking of documents in any position and in a wide range of environments.
The DocStaxx software is designed to work well as a standalone system, however, the use of the commonly deployed SQL Server also helps make it easy to integrate DocStaxx into existing database systems. The Web-based software is accessible through either internal networks or the Internet.
RFIDTraxx designed the system around Magellan Technologies’ Phase Jitter Modulation (PJM) RFID devices, including the company’s StackTags RFID tags and compatible readers. The StackTag’s PJM technology enables the scanning of tagged documents even if they are stacked in contact with each other. This enables the tracking of original documents, including single page documents, on desks, in folders, on shelves, or in archive boxes.
DocStaxx is targeted at businesses where the retention of paper documents is essential, such as law offices, mortgages companies, insurance companies, banks, hospitals, and medical offices. The system answers the document tracking requirements of these types of companies, where efficient and accurate tracking of valuable, signed and original documents are required in order to quickly locate documents for legal, accounting and privacy issues.
