Samsung has released a Bada 2.0 software development kit (SDK) in anticipation of launching several new smart phones later this year, according to v3.co.uk.
First announced at the beginning of 2011, Bada 2.0 features support for NFC, HTML5, Wi-Fi direct sharing and voice recognition in addition to a number of other updates.
To kick start Bada 2.0, Samsung is gearing up to launch three mid-range to high-end Wave smart phones running on the new platform the end of the year, reports v3.
Additionally, as part of a ‘Bada 2.0 Power App Race’ event, Samsung is offering a cash prize to the first 20 developers whose apps reach 100,000 downloads.
Developers can download the Bada 2.0 SDK from developer.bada.com.
